Well Child health promotion
Well Child health promotion aims to:
  • improve and protect the health and wellbeing of children/tamariki and their parents/whanau.
  • support strategic alliances formed with other agencies, to support the Positive Parenting initiatives and strategies in and our community.
  • increase awareness in the community about positive parenting and whanau engagement.

The WDHB Well Child health promoter, based in the Public Health Centre, is able to provide advice to colleaques, community organisations, schools, early childhood centres, and any other groups that need information about positive parenting, safe sleep practices and rheumatic fever.

Health promotion plays a key role looking at the gaps in our community around parenting. Looking at the key areas of parenting need, and working with other agencies to meet those needs.
