In 2013, Katie Scorringe (4th year Medical Student) and Wiremu MacFater (Registrar) joined the tertiary team that delivered the programme in the Whanganui area.

The Kia Ora Hauora Junior Careers Roadshow programme is provided ‘free’ to secondary schools. It targets Māori students in Year 9 & 10 and emphasis’ the importance of studying sciences.

In the summer of 2013, Katie Scorringe (4th year Medical Student) and Wiremu MacFater (Registrar) joined the tertiary team that interacted and inspired students through activities such as:
  • CPR – saving a life
  • Tendon  reflexes – the bodies mechanics
  • Stethoscope readings
  • Human anatomy – all about the human body.
