Whanganui and MidCentral District Health Board (DHBs) chairs and chief executives set time aside early this week to re-sign their centralAlliance agreement and reaffirm their commitment to work in partnership on  a range of projects that will benefit the region.

“While we have worked together for a number of years, it’s under the centralAlliance that our two DHBs have really been able to develop a close synergy we know will continue to benefit our joint region,” said Whanganui DHB chair Kate Joblin.

“I see the re-signing of our agreement as a reflection of just how well our partnership is working at all levels across the region.”

MidCentral DHB chair Phil Sunderland said he was particularly delighted that both boards had signed up to develop a strategic plan for their joint region.

“Our two boards have been working very hard to see where and how we can make improvements to the health services we deliver to our combined Whanganui and MidCentral communities. The Regional Women’s Health Service is a good example of what can be achieved when two DHBs pull together to work for the greater good.”
