Children admitted to Wanganui Hospital will have plenty to help keep them smiling following a generous donation of colouring books, pens and activity books to the ward. Tina Duxfield along with her children visited the Children’s Ward today to donate a range of art supplies. Mrs Duxfield says her daughter has spent a bit of time in hospital in the past, and when asked what she thought would have helped during her stay, they came up with this idea.
Children’s Ward clinical nurse manager Janene Louwrens says it brightens the patients day, distracts them from their illness and helps them to recover. “We are very grateful to the very kind and thoughtful people who think of ways they can assist in making our sick children feel happy and comfortable while they’re in hospital,” Mrs Louwrens says.
