Wanganui Hospital patient Jeanette van Dyk (left) was extremely happy to find she was able to borrow a copy of her favourite rag when Friends of the Hospital group secretary Ann Petherick and Rotary Club of Wanganui president Jim Callaghan (right) rolled up to her hospital bed with the new magazine library introduced at the hospital today.

Mrs Petherick says the Rotary Club of Wanganui and the Men’s Shed can’t be thanked enough for building and donating the mobile trolley which transports the library around Wanganui Hospital wards. “A huge thank you must go out to Rotary and the Men’s Shed for making this possible,” Mrs Petherick says. “I just know the library will be greatly appreciated by patients and will help to make them that little bit more comfortable during their hospital stay.”

“We are hoping to build variety in the magazines available for loan, particularly for men, so any donations of good quality recent magazines would be gratefully received,” Mrs Petherick says. Any magazine donations can be left at the Information Kiosk in Wanganui Hospital’s main entrance.
