Not long left to get entries in for health awards

As the closing date for entries in the 2012 Whanganui Health and Disability Quality Awards fast approaches, this year’s organising committee is urging Whanganui’s health workers to reflect on their achievements and get their entries in.
Committee chairperson Judith Bothma says following last year’s very successful awards dinner, the committee expects to see a significant rise in both the number and variety of entries.
“We know a lot of outstanding work is being done across the DHB district and we look forward to acknowledging and celebrating this with everyone who attends the dinner and prize-giving,” Ms Bothma says.
“The four new categories added to this year’s award categories not only reflect the diversity of work the health sector does to improve the health and wellbeing of the Whanganui DHB population but they offer more opportunity than ever for people to enter the awards and have their hard work acknowledged.”
Ms Bothma says as in previous years, the awards are open to all health or disability service providers who are working to improve the health and wellbeing of residents within the Whanganui District Health Board (WDHB) region.
This year’s guest speaker, paediatric surgeon and National Health Committee chair Anne Kolbe, is looking forward to attending the 31 October dinner at the Wanganui Racecourse and to meeting the category finalists and award winners.
Entries close at Friday 7 September, 2012. Entry application packs are now on the WDHB website and tickets costing $30 per person will go on sale at the beginning of September.
