Nelson Community Assessment Team

The Community Assessment Team for adults provides:

  • a 24-hour acute mental health service
  • assessment and short-term follow-up.

This service covers the Nelson region, from Rai Valley to Korere to Riwaka.


Marlborough Community Assessment Team

The Marlborough Community Assessment Team for adults provides a 24-hour crisis and mental health service which includes:

  • phone triage of referrals
  • advice and guidance on mental health needs and services in the community
  • crisis assessments and short-term follow-up.

This service covers all of Marlborough, including the Clarence River, up to the Lakes and down the Sounds and as far as Rai Valley.


Golden Bay Acute Mental Health Services

Te Whare Mahana offers a 24-hour, 7-day service for people experiencing a mental health crisis.

Services includes:

  • helping local healthcare providers in responding to psychiatric crises
  • referring clients to other mental health services
  • supporting the client and their whānau.

The service also offers case management for mental health consumers in Golden Bay.

This includes:

  • follow up care in the community
  • wellness maintenance and recovery planning to assist in the management of a mental illness
  • help in recovering from the effects of having a mental illness.
